Ligustrum (Privet)
If uniformity and durability is what you want from a hedge, you can’t beat privet. Semi-evergreen they form a tight screen of lush foliage. In summer they produce sweet smelling white flowers that are very interesting for bees and garden friendly insects. They come in green and golden forms and will grow in any soil.
Bushy and established in containers, so every one will grow, whereas bareroot plants quite often don't grow, as they need to be cut back by half before they are planted out otherwise they simply will not grow.
