Berberis

The barberry hedge has long been prized for its beauty and effectiveness at stopping intruders. Put your hand in and grab, you’ll never want to do that again. There are several varieties that make hedges, some deciduous and others evergreen. They all have pretty flowers in spring and berries in winter. The red varieties make stunning colour whilst they grow. Clip once or twice a year and feed in the spring. They like any good soil in sun or part shade. Plant with the pots almost touching for a thick hedge.
